A statement for all members and guests regarding the Coronavirus situation

Toastmasters International is actively working with clubs to help them make informed decisions in relation to the coronavirus (COVID-19).

Below is the most recent communication, at International Level:

Message from International President Deepak Meno reading the coronavirus

At Worthing Speakers Club, we have followed guidance, which has come from International, right the way through to the UK, to our District and then Area Levels. We are all working together to ensure that our clubs can continue, safely, in such unprecedented times.

Worthing Speakers’ Committee, plus Committees of other clubs too, have met, discussed and agreed, that all meetings until further notice, will now be held online.

Our Club has chosen to use Zoom for our meetings. As always, we welcome guests and we hope that by running our meetings online, we will still attract new visitors. For each meeting, we will be sharing a link to join. These links will be on our Calendar, which can be found if you look under ‘Meetings‘ on our website.

We held our first online meeting on 19th March 2020 and it was such a fab evening, with a great turn out and participation. We strongly believe that Online Meetings definitely have a place within our club and that we can all benefit and progress on our journeys to becoming better speakers, as well as develop skills in many other areas.

In a period of time where we are all going to need smarter ways of communication, what better way forward, than to join us every first and third Thursday evening of the month? Everyone is welcome and we are looking forward to seeing you.

Please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Wishing you and yours well over the coming weeks.

Amy, Worthing Speakers Club President
